We are proud to announce our team for this year's JIC. It's going to be a different one this year - we are going retro, back on the grass at KGS on the 1st of June!
Congratulations to all of the athletes selected and especially to our captains, Max and Emily.
If you weren't selected this year, keep training hard and your time will come.
We look forward to welcoming our friends from Shetland Amateur Athletics Club for a great competition.💙❤️

❤️THROWS AND JUMPS DEVELOPMENT WEEKEND❤️
We have had a brilliant weekend with Robert Wilkie and Ken Allan. They very generously gave up their time to travel to Orkney and deliver development sessions for our coaches, parents and athletes. Everyone got lots from the sessions and the learning will be taken into training plans for all of our primary and field athletes. We cannot put into words just how much we appreciate the support Robert and Ken continue to give our Club. With complete changes in our field coaching team over the past nine months, their help has been valued more than ever. Having the opportunity to give so many coaches and parents access to their knowledge and advice over one weekend is fantastic.
As well as being extremely grateful to Robert and Ken, we would also like to thank the coaches who gave their time and energy to the sessions, as they do on a weekly basis. Thanks also to the parents who came along. Thanks to the athletes for being the ‘bodies’ for the sessions, we are sure you gained a lot from it as well. The Pickaquoy Centreaquoy Centre staff for their help. Finally, thank you vOrkney Islands Councilands Council who helped to fund this development opportunity. It was certainly value for money, as the number of coaches and athletes who will benefit from this, now and in the futureScottish Athleticssh Athletics

Absolutely loved being able to help Orkney Athletic and Running Club again. Wonderful couple of days!! Those with the patience to look through the fantastic photos of Inga Linklater can see for themselves the extent of coverage and fun. They are such generous and appreciative hosts Robert Wilkie and I are always very keen and happy to take up their kind invites to help whenever we can. ❤️ ❤️
Great two days, fantastic club and super volunteers. It is always a pleasure to come up as we are so well looked after. Throw Far and Prosper all the throwers.
As well as providing regular athletic instruction and training sessions, one of the key aims of OARC is to promote pathways to performance and as part of this, the Club organises and participates in a range of home and away competitions throughout the year.
