McCain Scottish Young Athletes league Final

In glorious sunshine at Scotstoun Stadium on Saturday 23rd July athletes from all over Scotland including Shetland, Orkney and the Western Isles travelled to the McCain Scottish Young Athlete’s Final at Scotstoun Stadium where two Scottish age group records were broken along with a number of league records. Ciaran Wright(FVH) set new Scottish Age Group figures for the U15 Boys Hammer with a throw of 61m 95 that won him an Athlete of the match award while on the track Morro Bajo (EAC) set a new U15 boys 200m Scottish record with a time of 22.56.

U15G Leia Gladding – Falkirk Vic – 800m – 2.19.23
U15G Dionne Milne – Team Hippo – Discus – 50m 18
U17W Kimberley Reed – Edinburgh – Hammer – 50m 55 (new League record)
U17W Sarah Glenny – Kilbarchan – 300m – 41.87

Edinburgh AC won the match and will now represent Scottish clubs at the McCain UK Final on 4th September in Birmingham while in a close battle for second place between Giffnock North and Ayrshire Harriers, Giffnock came through to go to the McCain UK Auxiliary final on 3rd September.
